Welcome!
Hi Wordies,
My name is Kayla Miller and I am an ecofeminist writer, education-centered environmental communicator, and award-winning environmental justice scholar-activist. I graduated from Swarthmore College with a degree in Environmental Studies, focusing on Environmental Justice, and double minored in English Literature and Black Studies. I started this blog in January of 2020, right before the pandemic, and this blog has carried me all the way up until the time I'm writing this.

Hailing from Brooklyn, NY, I am passionate about urban environmental/climate justice organizing, specifically working around storytelling, education, youth organizing, and policy. My dedication extends to my ecofeminist scholarship, where I explore the connection between Black women, mothering, and reproductive and environmental justice. I am committed to unearthing Black feminist understandings of how we midwife a more loving, sustainable world, together.
kmworded is a blog that educates that "the personal is political". Covering a myriad of topics that intertwine pop culture with the social and political state of the world, kmworded roots itself in lessons from Black (eco)feminists. Reaching an audience of 300+ people across the website, Instagram (@kmworded), and Substack combined, each piece leaves readers with a new, more intersectional, way of looking at the world.
Thank you for reading my posts. I appreciate it more than you know. I hope that these posts continue to resonate and make you happy! Please feel welcome to reach out to me via email (kmworded@gmail.com) or via Instagram (@kmworded). I love hearing from you all!
Please do not re-upload my work anywhere else, claim it as your own, or do anything else shady. All rights reserved!
